May 26-27 Sat-Sun 15th On Memorial Day Weekend the Adirondacks will play host to POLKAFESTUSA, the 15th annual celebration of polka dance and music. The event features four nationally known Polka bands. Saturday's festivities include music provided by THE BOYS, from Maryland, and THE EDDIE FORMAN ORCHESTRA, from Massachussetts. Following a Polka Worship Service at noon, music on Sunday will be provided by Frank Liszka and Dave Walter (OLD SCHOOL) from Ohio, and Hank Guzevitch's POLKA FAMILY, from Pennsylvania.
Old Forge is located in the western foothills of the Adirondack Park, one hour north of Utica, NY. The event is run by Adirondack Special Events, a new Special Events Promotional Company. Well-known polka promoter Dave Sychtysz serves as director of the event. Camper and RV parking is available by contacting Jim Connerty at (315)369-5456. Hookups not available.
Lodging should be booked well in advance of the event. Special rates are available at the Water's Edge Inn in Old Forge if booked by April 1st by calling (315) 369-2484. Tickets are $17 per day/$30 for the two day event, and are available online.
